For the Casually Inclined

Books, Bands, Beers, + Babes

I've always had the best luck when it comes to personal recommendations from friends, family, even acquaintances. I do this mostly with books, talking to people versus reading reviews has always given me the best opportunity when it comes to a find that really peaks my interest. So, working right along that same theme, I thought I'd pass this knowledge on with the hope that you might have the same kind of luck with these, that I've had.

Here's a list of a few of my current favorite things,

Dangermuffin: I love this band. I discovered them on my maternity leave so they also bring back memories of the early days with our new babe, which is fun. We were lucky enough to see them at a really small venue and I've been listening to them ever since. Funky, and fun, beautifully instrumental, every song has a different vibe . Recommended Tracks; Nowhere Path, Western Sky, Cicada, Rain, Skinimin, Mystery Repeating, Coffin Island

Magic Hat's Single Chair: I'm a beer girl, and I love trying new tastes. My husband got me in to Magic Hat and between their selection and artwork, they're a win. I just recently tried Single Chair and loved it. A really tasty and smooth golden ale, fortunately and unfortunately you can't have just one.

Our Food Stories: I stumbled upon these two pretty ladies on Instagram (IG: _foodstories_) and am always looking forward to their next posts. You see a lot of food photos these days but their's are literally beautiful. Their site lists all their recipes, all gluten free but no less delicious.

Orphan Train: This book was a recommendation from my mother-in-law and it's one of the best books I've read recently. Based on true events, it tells the story of U.S. orphan trains full of abandoned children, immigrants a lot of the time, being hauled from US cities to live with families in the midwest. The experiences and strength of these kids is hard to imagine. Super interesting, it leaves you googling for more.
